Install Shortza safely

Use this guide to understand the Android download and installation prompts before you install an APK.

Before downloading

Download only from the Shortza South Africa button or a verified authorised source.
Use Wi‑Fi where possible. Video apps and APK files can use mobile data.
Keep Android and Google Play Protect enabled. Do not install a file if Android warns that it may be harmful.
Make sure your device has enough free storage and a stable connection.

This site does not publish a release size, version, or checksum until the site operator has supplied a verified APK release. Do not rely on an APK file that is renamed, sent by an unknown person, or hosted on an unfamiliar domain.

Installation steps

Start the download. Select the official Shortza download button and wait for the browser to finish downloading the APK.
Open the downloaded file. Use your browser’s download notification or your device’s Downloads folder.
Review Android’s prompt. Android may ask whether this browser is allowed to install unknown apps. Enable this only for the browser you are using and only if you trust the download source.
Confirm the app details. Check that Android shows the expected app details from the trusted download source before selecting Install.
Open Shortza. After installation, re-enable the browser’s “install unknown apps” permission if you do not need it for other trusted downloads.

If something looks wrong

Cancel the installation if the download address, app name, or Android warning differs from what you expected.
Return to this page rather than following a pop-up or a link sent by an unknown account.
If you already installed a suspicious file, remove it, run your device security checks, and change passwords only through trusted official services.
